Golf holidays on the Lucerne golf courses and at the Swiss Golf Hotel
The place where the battle was held back in 1386, in which the confederates assured their independence, is now not only home to the country’s largest golfing site Sempachersee with the most beautiful scenery but at the same time to one of the longest championship courses, the Lakeside Course (6,660 metres). Rightly the fog-free high altitude health resort Hildisrieden is also described as the ‘sun terrace of Lucerne’. On the entire golfing site a fantastic panoramic view from the Pilatus to the Rigi and the Schwyz Alps to the Zug Alps awaits the visitor. The ‘Lakeside’ course honours its name as eleven watercourses and several rivulets intervene to keep the score up. The architect Kurt Rossknecht designed this golf course right after an ‘educational leave’ to Scotland, the reason for a number of deep, broad sand bunkers and here and there a few grass bunkers.
From Lucerne one can reach 13 varied golf courses in less than an hour. The sites are blotted in beautiful natural settings with a view of the town, the lake or the mountains and they offer to every golf enthusiast exactly what he is looking for - from the pre-Alpine, tricky natural golf course up to broad and long fairways for passionate longhitters.
The Bürgenstock, one of the most beautiful vantage points in the world, has lately been revived and will be enhanced until 2013 with an exclusive resort including 3 luxury hotels and a 9-hole golf course at a spot that the former German chancellor Konrad Adenauer already described as the most beautiful walk on earth.
The Swiss Golf Hotels’ health and beauty offer and the gastronomic delights make golf holidays into an unforgettable experience.
The Swiss Golf Hotels offer an excellent service regarding the reservation of tee-off times at the golf courses. The persons in charge of the guests were trained for golf concerning matters. Green fee reductions of up to 50% (according to the season) in all Swiss Golf Hotels.
As geographical and historical heart of Switzerland the Lucerne and Lake Lucerne area is willingly described as ‘Switzerland en miniature’. Rightly so because no other place in Switzerland is so typical and holiday friendly on such a small surface: A cultural town that is known as a festival city and that offers excellent hotels directly on the shores of characteristic Lake Lucerne as well as attractive excursion possibilities to the mountains in the town’s vicinity.
