Golfing experience where the Rhine is just a rivulet

With the sites of Brigels, Sagogn-Schluein and Sedrun, the golfing region between the source of the river Rhine and the Rhine ravine offers three captivating courses of varying characters. Nevertheless, what the three have in common is that they are all in a breathtaking setting. The fantastic Alpine panorama is always part of the game and provides real golfing inspiration. The golf courses are only a twenty to forty-minute drive apart and therefore invite a longer stay. Many hotels offer their guests a 20% reduction on the green fees. Further golf courses in Grisons and the Rhine valley can be reached within sixty minutes by car.

Sedrun

Amidst the Alpes at an altitude of about 1,500 metres lies the golf course of Sedrun, with nine spectacular holes. While playing this varied course it is very possible that a golfer will be distracted by the impressive Alpine backdrop. The meticulously well-kept fairways are part of a landscape featuring the Vorder Rhine that emerges into daylight just a little higher up. The 7th hole offers a very special sight. Along with a magnificent view of the golf course, the view of the valley awakes special emotions. For skilled golfers and beginners alike, the Sedrun golf course offers the right challenge to players of all handicaps. As each hole has two ladies’ and two men’s tees, the second nine holes offer new perspectives.

Brigels

Following the Rhine at Sedrun one quickly reaches Tavanasa. From there a road leads to Brigels situated 500 metres higher. The golf course lies on the ‘Tschuppina’ plateau at an altitude of 1,300 metres. A magnificent all-round view of the Alps can be savoured from this spot. The 9-hole site is harmoniously embedded in the natural and excitingly hilly grounds. Nevertheless a walk on this course is not terribly strenuous. The golfing idyll is emphasized by the breathtaking panorama that accompanies the golfer from one tee to another. The golf academy, with its golf pro Paavo Schaefer, offers an innovative training method. It is the only golf academy in Switzerland that has a device simulating sloping positions, thus enabling the teacher to practise the game on slopes with his pupils.

Sagogn-Schluein

The latest golf course of the Surselva is situated on a plain in Sagogn-Schluein at an altitude of 750 m. It is one of the most beautiful courses in Switzerland. The centrally situated site, ‘Buna Vista Golf’, has a natural design and is suitable for skilled golfers and beginners alike. Furthermore, the course offers high-calibre golfing possibilities for demanding golfers. Golfers experience a sunny, varied 18-hole round with water hazards, sand bunkers, elevated tees and grass bunkers. The view of the Alpine Surselva setting will easily compensate for any unsuccessful stroke.
