Swiss Golf Guide 2010.
Unforgettable Golf Vacation in Switzerland 2010.
Switzerland as a traditional golf and tourism destination.
Switzerland has, as one of the most beautiful countries of the world, since 1985 already 31 golf courses whereas 4 golf courses are already more than 100 years old. Thus have the 95 Swiss golf courses a long tradition. All golf courses are surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, touristic sightseeing hot spots and are accessible within a short time. Values and traditions are still lived when swings your club between 4 thousand feet crests and crystal clear mountain lakes. The ones that prefer the Mediterranean climate is quickly in Ticino or at the lake of Geneva.
Switzerland is simply unique. A beauty of nature from the „Rheinfall“ in Schaffausen until the Mediterranean Ticino, from the solitary mountain valley in Grison until the rurally dreamy „Emmental“, from the highly alpine Valley until Geneva, the city with francophone charm. Nearly 8 million Swiss and flocks of tourists from all kinds of countries cavort on scantily 41.300 sqm in the middle of the terrific mountainside with 74 majestic 4 thousand feet crests, wherefrom 55 are completely on Swiss ground (source: Wikipedia), 140 glaciers, enchanting lakes, rivers, grassland, alps and - believe it or not - about 100 golf courses. Golf, imported into the Alps by British tourists already in 1893, has here tradition and a huge and steady increasing following. Especially, since next to the established private clubs there evolve more and more commercial public courses.
